The Brief
Design an exhibition environment that reimagined the future of connected cities, creating a flexible space where technology, demonstrations and visitor experiences could come together.
My Contribution
Worked collaboratively with the Creative Director, fellow 3D designers and experiential team to develop the exhibition environment. My role focused on translating the creative vision into the spatial design, developing the architectural language, visitor journey and 3D environment through to the final visual proposal.
The Thinking
Building on the Creative Director’s vision, I developed the environment around the feeling of exploring a contemporary Japanese city. Inspired by busy streets and hidden alleyways, the central courtyard became the heart of the experience, with walkways branching into different destinations. Suspended cubes, illuminated pillars, urban signage and props associated with a vision of future Japan helped build the city-like atmosphere.
White trees and integrated video walls acted as a neutral canvas, allowing the space to shift between three distinct states: Tokyo, London and a city of the future. Details such as the cobbled street effect and painted road lines strengthened the sense of place, while the physical environment remained consistent enough to support each transformation.
